Masonic Charity Sets New Record

The four main Masonic Craft Charities contribute substantial sums each year to Masonic and non-Masonic causes. Annual giving has reached a record high of:
Grand Charity                      £4.9m
MTGB (Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys) £8.4m
NMSF (New Masonic Samaritan Fund) £2.5m
RMBI (Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution) £7.1m

Total Annual Giving: £22.9m

- The four charities combined rank among the top dozen grant-giving bodies in the UK
- £18.1 million represents direct support to Freemasons and their families
- The remaining £4.8 million for non-Masonic causes is also concentrated in areas of interest and importance to Freemasons
- Giving has increased in each of the five years 1997-2001, with a grand total of more than £100 million
Breakdown of Support
Residential care for older people £7.6m
Masonic Relief Grants £1.8m
Disaster relief £0.2m
Children & young people £8.6m
Vulnerable people & disability £1.3m
Healthcare & medical research £3.4m
