Erasure of Lodges
The Board has received a report that 18 Lodges have closed and surrendered their Warrants. The Lodges are:
Newall Lodge No. 1134 (East Lancashire), Borough of Bethnal Green Lodge No. 2896 (London), Northern Star Lodge No. 3053 (East Lancashire), Belle Vue Lodge No. 3664 (East Lancashire), Old Lawrentian Lodge No. 4141 (London), Endeavour Lodge No. 4409 (East Lancashire), Roger Ascham Lodge No. 4430 (London), Joppa Lodge No. 4586 (Cheshire), Fidelitas Lodge No. 4706 (East Lancashire), Tigris Lodge No. 5321 (London), Diadem Lodge No. 5574 (East Lancashire), Cravenstoke Lodge No. 5605 (London), Clare Avon Lodge No. 5617 (London), Arts and Sciences Lodge No. 5626 (London), Temple Lodge No. 5881 (Durham), Slade Lodge No. 5883 (East Lancashire), Crusader Lodge No. 6589 (West Lancashire), Mancunium Lodge No. 6872 (East Lancashire).
A Resolution that the above Lodges be erased was passed.
Fees
A Resolution was passed that the fees (exclusive of VAT) payable for registrations, certificates and dispensations should be increased by approximately 3% to:

the Registration of:
- A Grand Officer, present or past, on first appointment £77.25
- A Deputy Metropolitan Grand Master or a Metropolitan Group Chairman (Under Rule 60) £44.00
- A Deputy or Assistant Provincial or District Grand Master (under Rule 66) £44.00
- A Holder of Overseas Grand Rank (under Rule 93) £ 17.50
- A Mason, inclusive of Grand Lodge Certificate (initiation, or joining from a Lodge not under the Grand Lodge)
In a Lodge in England and Wales that is unattached £44.00
In a Lodge in a Metropolitan Area or a province £38.10
In a Lodge in a District £24.45
In a Lodge abroad not under a District £34.50
the replacement or amendment of a Grand Lodge Certificate £44.00
a certificate for a Serving Brother £24.45
a Dispensation by the Grand Master £21.35
a Dispensation by the Grand Master 'nunc pro tunc' £42.70
The Board believes that next year it will need to recommend to Grand Lodge that fees again be increased by approximately 3% to the following:
- the Registration of-:
- A Grand Officer, present or past, on first appointment £79.60
- A Deputy Metropolitan Grand Master or a Metropolitan Group Chairman (Under Rule 60) £45.35
- A Deputy or Assistant Provincial or District Grand Master (under Rule 66) £45.35
- A Holder of Overseas Grand Rank (under Rule 93) £ 18.00
- A Mason, inclusive of Grand Lodge Certificate (initiation, or joining from a Lodge not under the Grand Lodge)
In a Lodge in England and Wales that is unattached £45.35
In a Lodge in a Metropolitan Area or a Province £39.25
In a Lodge in a District £25.20
In a Lodge abroad not under a District £35.50
- the replacement or amendment of a Grand Lodge Certificate £45.35
- a certificate for a Serving Brother £25.25
- a Dispensation by the Grand Master £22.00
a Dispensation by the Grand Master 'nunc pro tunc' £44.00
Contributions to the Grand Charity
The Board recommends in
accordance with Rule 271, Book of Constitutions, that contributions payable to the Grand Charity in respect of each member of a Lodge in a Metropolitan Area or a Province, in England and Wales that is unattached, for the year 2004 shall be £6.00. No payment is due in respect of members of Lodges overseas.
