Removal of a Chapter
A Memorial from Lumen Chapter, No.
5768 (London) praying that the Chapter be
permitted to be removed from London to
the Province of Middlesex was approved.
Erasures
The Committee received reports on four
Chapters: St. Andrews Chapter, No. 2329
(South America, Southern Division); St.
George Chapter, No. 2544 (Natal); Duke
of Edinburgh Chapter, No. 4341 (West
Lancashire); Karoi Chapter, No. 8193
(Zimbabwe).
The Chapters have been obliged to close
for lack of support and have surrendered
their Charters and have been erased from the
register of Grand Chapter and the Charters
cancelled.
Fees
2005: The Committee recommendation, in
accordance with Regulation 98, that the fees
for Registration, Replacement Certificates,
Certificates for Serving Companions, and
Dispensations for 2005 should be increased
by approximately 3% to keep pace with the
costs of providing the services concerned,
was approved.
2006: The Committee believes that it is
likely to have to recommend next year that
fees payable in 2006 be increased by
approximately 3% to keep pace with the
costs of providing the services concerned.
Contributions to Grand Chapter
2005: The Committee recommendation, in
accordance with Regulation 100, that the
contributions (exclusive of VAT) payable
annually to Grand Chapter in respect of each
member of a Chapter in a Metropolitan Area
or a Province for the year 2005 shall remain
unchanged at £3.15, was approved.
2006: The Committee believes that it
will be able to recommend next year that
contributions remain unchanged in 2006.
Motion Pursuant to Notice
Amendments to the Royal Arch Regulations
The President of the Committee of General
Purposes moved amendments to Regulation
26(e) with effect from 1 January 2005
relating to a Metropolitan Grand Chapter.
The amendments were approved.
Notice of Motion

Grand Chapter
(A) Amendments to the Royal Arch
Regulations 43, 44, 45 and 49.
(B) Changes to the General Practice of
the Royal Arch
“(a) That all references to the Royal Arch
being the completion of the Master Mason’s
degree be removed from the ritual;
(b) that the traditional dates attributed
to the three Original Grand Lodges be
removed from the Historical Lecture; and
(c) that Chapters be permitted to use the
additions and variations to the ritual of the
Royal Arch and the Lectures of the Three
Chairs set out in the Annex to the paper
of business.”
Accounts of Grand Chapter
The audited Accounts of Supreme Grand
Chapter for the year ended 31 December
2003 were adopted.
Charges for Patents and Charters
In accordance with Royal Arch Regulation
99, the Charges for Patents and Charters
are reviewed annually and are based on
the cost of producing the documents.
The Committee recommendation that
